Stoppers made from modern lightweight materials, the DO 550 mouldings are made from high quality, lightweight and impact resistant plastic. Cams and bases are marine grade aluminium, anodised for long life in a marine environment. The clutch mechanism features a specially hardened tooth design allowing maximum grip with minimum slippage whilst being gentle on the lines. Release under load is positive and requires minimal effort. The opening and closing action of the mechanism is precise and easy to use, even with cold and wet hands. There is also a positive handle lock in the closed position. Stainless steel fairleads are fitted to both the line entry and exit points, a feature which helps prevent wear and line friction.
